SPOTLIGHT: VA wants to track physician response to alerts
While the Department of Veterans Affairs has an advanced, integrated EMR with clinical decision support, the Computerized Patient Record System that makes up part of the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) can't report whether clinicians actually take action based on alerts about abnormal test results. The department now is seeking a contractor to remedy that shortcoming. The vendor must be willing to provide source code for three functional prototypes over a 16-month period. Solicitation
